What is PATH2ZERO?
The transport sector remains one of the fastest-growing sources of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions—unlike other sectors where progress has been made, transport emissions continue to rise. This highlights the urgent need for more precise, tailored, and actionable solutions.
PATH2ZERO is an EU-funded project that equips policymakers and stakeholders with cross-sectoral tools and data to develop, measure, and evaluate effective pathways for reducing transport-related emissions.
Our goals:
Develop data-driven model frameworks that forecast transport activity and emissions up to 2050.
Provide tools to compare and evaluate policies, helping to identify gaps and refine strategies to meet EU and global GHG targets.
Promote cross-sectoral collaboration, engaging stakeholders across Europe and beyond to co-create best-practices.
Our approach:
PATH2ZERO will work in two main cycles:
Cycle 1: Data & Modeling
We collect, harmonise, and visualise transport and policy data to build accurate forecasting models for transport emissions.Cycle 2: Policy Development & Refinement
Using data collected from Cycle 1, PATH2ZERO will refine and benchmark national and international policy frameworks to align with the EU’s net-zero ambitions and global targets.
